Amy is now 8 months pregnant with Makayla. Kim and I traveled to Lake Havasu to attend/help with her baby shower. I was put in charge of the games and cupcakes :)
Kim and I had fun with this assignment! We chose to go with a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting. We added edible sparkles and candy rose to make them look danty.
We had a few casualties that didn't survive the ride out there.. so we went to the store and bought some lemon cakes to ensure everyone had a desert to eat. The cupcakes were a big hit!
Here's me and my sis...
My niece Makayla is in there... :) and it's just really weird to see Amy pregnant.. lol
This is Amy teamed up with her boyfriend, Andrew's, mom Marie. They were playing guess how many candies were in the baby bottle... They won too!
This was the second game we played... it was guess what baby food is in the jar.. What's funny is that the lady that won this game did not even taste the food. She just took one look and guessed and was the only one that guessed all of them correctly... Pretty cool!
I wanted some action shots.... LOL...
These were the peas... and they were gross!! Yucky!!
The last game we played was Pin the Baby on the Mommy!! This was Kim and my favorite!! LOL.. Don't worry, I didn't let the contestants actually place the baby on Amy.. I interceded and placed it nicely on her :)
... Aren't they so cute?
I think Amy had fun with that one.. ??? LOL...
Then it was time for opening up gifts... She got lots of girl clothes, some diapers, wipes, blankets, baby care items, and 3 baby seats (i think that's what they are called)
... opening some more...
She received a Santa Clause outfit since the baby's due date is Dec. 23rd :).. So cute!
Here's the mom and dad to be modeling the little hats I bought for Makayla :).. You know Aunt Diane HAD to bring some hats for her ;)
She's so pretty! Here is Amy with all her baby presents from the shower :)
Before we headed back home on Sunday morning we stopped by to say goodbye to Amy one last time. She had coffee all ready for us :)..I really enjoyed this last hour and a half of the trip. Talking to Andrew, Amy and their roommate, Norman, was a lot of fun. They introduced to their snakes! Yes, snakes! And Kim said she would pay for breakfast if I held one long enough to get a picture.. lol. So I tried, and here it is...
Uh.. yeah! It was weird... but hey, that McDonald's breakfast was worth it! LOL..
This is Norman, Amy and Andrew's roommate. He obviously likes reptiles.. :)
Well, I am so glad that I was able to make it out there for this special time for Amy. I'm really excited at the anticipation of her baby's birth :)
